I was engaged by Tourism Victoria to create the promotional material for the 2012 events, held at Eau De Vie in both Melbourne and Sydney. With a somewhat clandestine event theme and speakeasy nature of the venues, we devised a concept combining prohibition era labelling with semi-cryptic masonic glyphs. Along with various textual clues, the glyphs were applied at random across event ticketing, providing visiting Journalists hooks into numerous potential story angles. In addition to working in conjunction with mastermind Joe Miranda (of HARD WORKERS CLUB) on the production side, I was awarded the task of branding the debut. Being a festival based around imagemaking – the solution was one of simplicity, a marque capable of sitting across a breadth of photography with equal parts strength and subtlety. Amsterdam based TENNIS CLUB BOOKSHOP exists in parallel to P & C, with both stores sharing stock, contacts and visual identity. Devised by longtime shredders Duncan Ewington and Kris Whiting, The Cream is a new ailment formulated to soothe and heal those bumps and bruises incurred on board. From the smallest of late night no comply mishaps - to the full "dude you better be getting this" leaps of faith - this stuff is a godsend. The typography echoes both the manic feel of the film, and playful interactions between the two main characters. The sequence was conceptualised to work as a simple animation, achieved by shooting each frame in-camera.
